REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 12, 2004
 

The regular meeting of the Pelican Town Board was called to order by acting Chairperson John C. Johnson.  Present: John C. Johnson, Ted Rice, Suzanne Goerges and Shirley Wallin. Absent: Bruce Galles

Minutes of December meeting were reviewed. T. Rice made a motion to accept minutes of December meeting as presented, seconded by J. Johnson, motion carried.

Treasurers report given: Opening Balance: $114,986.14, Receipts: $77,913.97, Disbursements: $20,828.76, Ending Balance: $$172,071.32, Checkbook Balance: $239.11, Savings Balance: $171,832.24, All Funds Balance: $172,071.35. T. Rice made a motion to accept Treasurers report, seconded by J. Johnson, motion carried.

Eric was present from the police department, he handed out the monthly reports. Had no break-ins in December and no fish house break in’s reported, has had a few alarms but nothing else. Eric also gave us a yearly report for 2003, Pelican Township had 123 incidents in 2003.

Bills to be paid were presented, J. Johnson made a motion to pay all bills, seconded by T. Rice, motion carried.

Correspondences were read: LUCC meeting will be held on 2/4,  Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway’s will be present at our March 8, 2004 meeting to make a presentation, JPA Association of Thirty Lakes Water Shed will also be present at our March 8, 2004 meeting to make a presentation about the sewer district.

ROAD REPORT:  T. Rice said he did talk to the land trust dept. about some things with Margaret Larson property, sounds like things are still pending and will take about 2 months or so before we have an answer. Corp. of Engineers looked at the property by the public landing and said everything was OK with them.

Bid opening to resurface Red Oak Rd. will be January 27, 2004 at Lake Edward Town Hall.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: J. Johnson said that Mission Township  has a volunteer committee for the Comprehensive Plan for the sewer district, J. Johnson thought that we may want to do something similar to what they are doing.

ZONING: none

OLD BUSINESS: none

NEW BUSINESS: Clerk handed out drafts of Budget that Chairperson B. Galles had prepared before he left, so the Town Board has a chance to review it before the February meeting.

Next meeting : February 9, 2004 at 7:30 PM this will include the Audit Meeting and Budget Meeting.

T. Rice made a motion to adjourn, seconded by J. Johnnson, motion carried.
